The purpose of this lab was to have students design their own experiments to practice with the work and power
equations. Students hooked a spring scale to a weight and measured force by
dragging the weight across the table at a
constant rate over a certain distance. The time it took to cover the
distance was calculated. Work was calculated from the equation W = Fx.
Power generated was calculated from the equation P = W/t.
