The purpose of this lab was to have students review solubility from prior
knowledge. Students were given 3 solids (sugar, starch, ammonium chloride)
and 3 liquids (food coloring, vegetable oil, rubbing alcohol) and were asked to
test each substances solubility in water. It was found that all sugar,
starch, ammonium chloride, food coloring, and rubbing alcohol were soluble and
vegetable oil was insoluble.
