The purpose of this lab was to introduce students to their lab sheets as well as how to ask and answer a question in science.
Students were
given a list of materials they could use to come with a question to ask about sugar dissolving.
After the question was picked, the lab groups
identified variables, came up with a hypothesis and procedure. The results for each question asked were:
10 groups found that sugar cubes dissolve faster with increasing temperature.
1 group found that granulated sugar dissolves faster than a sugar cube.
1 group found that sugar water boils at a higher temperature than plain water.
