These are done in order to help YOU succeed.
- When you enter class an assignment will be posted on the board. Any handouts you need will be on the counter as you walk in. Please sit down, get your materials out and begin working as soon as you enter the classroom. It is your responsibility to start class.
- Bells are for teachers not for students. They let teachers know when to begin and end class. When the bell rings at the end of class please stay seated until you are dismissed.
- If an assignment is not turned in the day it was due, it can be turned in the next day for half credit. No credit will be given for the assignment after that.
- If you were absent a day, please check the assignment sheet posted in the room, the website, or ask a classmate. Any handouts you missed will be in the make-up work file. The handouts will be organized by class. It is your job to get any notes you missed from one of your classmates. Any labs, quizzes or tests that you missed will need to be made up ASAP.
- If an assignment was turned in when you were absent you have twice as many days to turn it in as you were absent (i.e. if you were gone two days, you have four extra days to turn it in).
- When we are working in small groups or in labs, a bell will ring when it is time to end discussion and come back together as a big group. This is to avoid your instructor yelling at you too much.
- When notes are being given, please be quiet and listen. Important test information may be being presented.
- During class discussions please be respectful of the person who is talking. You would want people to listen to what you have to say, so do likewise. If you have something to add to the discussion please raise your hand. This will ensure that everyone who wants to add something to the discussion will have a chance to.
- Please be respectful of the classroom environment. After labs, leave your lab area as you found it, if not cleaner. Do not play with anything in the classroom, unless given permission. This includes the paper towel dispenser, the gas lines, and the eyewash/shower.
- Take pride in your work and do the best job that you can. Homework and tests are your chance to show me what you know. Everyone has the ability to succeed and do well in this class.
