This lab was meant to show students the difference between physical and chemical properties of matter.
Students took 8 substances (cardboard, wood, newspaper, glass, aluminum, calcium carbonate, cotton, and plastic) and checked them for the following properties: color, odor, texture, hardness, reaction with acid, and burning.
Lastly, students labeled each test as either a physical or chemical property.
