This lab was meant to have students identify the stages of mitosis in an actual
cell. Students observed stained onion root cells and were to count (or
estimate) the number of cells they observed in interphase, prophase, metaphase,
anaphase, and telophase by looking at the chromosomes inside the nucleus.
