The purpose of this lab was to reinforce students understanding of what a
karyotype is and how one is used to determine gender and genetic problems.
Students first constructed a karyotype by cutting out chromosomes and pasting
them on a form. The karyotype was then analyzed for gender and for any
chromosome abnormalities.
