The purpose of this lab was to have students review parts of the brain by
looking at an actual specimen. Students first located all the external
parts of their sheep brain, including the cerebrum, cerebellum, pons, medulla, and
cranial nerves. The brain was then bisected and the glands that compose
the diencephalon and midbrain were found.
